The Daughters of the King is an order for women who are communicants of the Epsicopal church. By reaffirmation of the promises made at Baptism and Confirmation, a Daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, service, and evangelism, dedicated to the spreading of Chirsts kingdom and the strengthening of spiritual life of her parish.
The above silver cross is worn at all times to remind the Daughters of their pledge. The chapter at St. Mary's was re-established in 2017 and named the St. Mary and Martha chapter. They meet once a month to ask for special and confidential prayers for not just the church, but also the community. In addition to prayer, the DOK evaluates the needs of the congregation and assists the priest in anything requested.
